5 Axis CNC Milling
Our state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machining centers offer several advantages over traditional optical manufacturing equipment. They significantly reduce tool wear, resulting in shorter machining times and tighter tolerances than traditional diamond turning techniques. These machining centers are particularly well suited for manufacturing optical components with complex geometries, including curved aspheres and free-form surfaces, as well as parts with bevels, holes, channels and other complex features. Swiss Turning
Swiss-style lathes utilize a unique method of pushing the workpiece through the guide bushings to achieve both axial and rotary motion. This design minimizes deflection by keeping the tool near the guide bush, regardless of the length of the part. The Swiss-style machining process is particularly well suited for producing long, thin and complex parts.
